THE MANDALA PROJECT - How it came to life

If you know someone whose day would be brightened by this Mandala, please pass it along! Even more magical, with a love note from you!

The Mandala Project: #37

There are portals that allow us to travel from the normal to the enchanted.

They appear everyday but we don’t notice them. Instead we harden ourselves in our quest to get things done.

We arm ourselves with agendas and to do lists, pursuing an endlessly elusive and slippery sense of security, and lose sight of the wonder of our presence here.

When we’re not connected with the deeper ‘why’ of our doing, or we’re holding back to play it safe, we miss the chance to create magic.

TENDING THE UNIVERSE

A bee doing her work in the world moves in response to the call. With the scent of nectar leading the way, her devotion to her craft plays a major role in feeding the planet, supports the thriving of complex ecosystems and is directly responsible for the widespread proliferation of beauty.

She trusts what is hers to do and in doing so her gifts enchant the world.

Tracking your specific area of wizardry is an adventure into mystery.

Paying attention to what makes you come alive, what it is that you deeply care about, what sparks your curiosity and feels most like “you” to you—brings you into connection with your specific gifts and talents.

When you set out after truth with curiosity and love, enchantment reveals itself.

*We don’t long for what we can’t have - we long for what’s possible, what’s trying to emerge.

Each moment is an opening. The Infinite is speaking to you through your interest. Let your heart fly, it knows the way.

Offering our unique ‘something’ to the world in the way that only we can might very well be our best and most essential contribution to the tending of the Universe.

PROCESS

If you tip your head to the left you’ll see a tiny white heart embedded in the centre of the rock. That’s what initially drew me to this as a backdrop and I was building around it when this tenacious bee arrived, undaunted by my presence.

Later in editing, I wound up spinning the image one turn to the left, letting go of the heart and my attachment to that idea and making this wondrous being the focal point.

She basically hijacked the whole project, and what emerged was something powerful and previously unimagined. Because that’s what magicians do.
